Chili Cook-Off to Benefit Foundation Community Assistance Fund

SFSC’s annual Chili Cook-Off is coming to the Highlands Campus on Thursday, Oct. 26, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., in Building B Rotunda, Highlands Campus. This year, the Chili Cook-Off is sponsored by the SFSC Chapter of the Association of Florida Colleges (AFC). The Chili Cook-off not only benefits the SFSC Foundation Community Assistance Fund, but gives you a chance to sample many unusual and tantalizing varieties of chili which are prepared and donated by college employees and students. The cost is $5 for chili, drink, and crackers. Along with offering good food and camaraderie, AFC will sell desserts.

Teams are invited to bring pots of their special chili to be judged, then consumed. (And don’t forget to create a theme for your team.) To enter your team and its chili for judging, click here.  Organizers are capping the number of teams at 10, so get your entry in right away. An elite team of judges will rate the chili and award certificates and bragging rights to the top three finalists. Judging begins at 11 a.m. on Oct. 26.

All proceeds from the event go to the SFSC Foundation Community Assistance Fund. For more information about the Chili Cook-Off, contact Eddie Cuencas, at ext. 7161, or email cuencase@southflorida.edu.
