Submit Your Nominations for Meritorious Service Awards 2017

Dear Colleagues,

Now is the time to submit nominations for the 2017 SFSC Meritorious Service Awards.  I request your assistance in identifying SFSC team members and others whose service has been exemplary in demonstrating excellence and commitment to the college, to our students, and to the communities we serve.  Please send your nominations to me by noon, Friday, Nov.3.

By using this submission form,  send your nominations to me including a brief statement explaining why the person is worthy of consideration.  There should be a separate form for each person you wish to nominate, and you may send your nominations by email, drop them off at my office, or have them delivered to the President’s Office through the college mail service.  If you are not sure which award an employee is eligible to receive, just write the nomination focusing on the noteworthy qualities of the nominee and send it to me.   I’ll determine the most appropriate award(s) for which that person is eligible.  For your convenience, this list of all employees  shows their respective employment categories.

I plan to share your nominations with members of a review committee comprised of recipients of the 2016 Meritorious Service Awards.  This committee and the vice presidents will advise me in the selection for the 2017 Awards.

Everyone who is nominated for a 2017 Meritorious Service Award will be acknowledged.  As in the past, preference will be granted to those nominees who have not previously received that particular award.  Please nominate worthy colleagues regardless of this.  We want to recognize excellence whenever we find it and no matter how often it is demonstrated.

You may nominate employees for one or more of the following Meritorious Service Awards:

Outstanding Full-Time Career Service Employee

Outstanding Part-Time Career Service Employee

Outstanding Professional Employee

Outstanding Full-Time Faculty Member

Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Member

Outstanding Administrator

Outstanding Volunteer from the Community

Panther Spirit Award

Outstanding Employee of the Year

In addition to the recognition itself, each award includes a monetary award.  All full-time faculty who receive an award are also nominated for Excellence Awards of the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) and will be invited to attend the International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence in Austin, Texas, in May 2018.

We will announce the 2017 Meritorious Service Award nominees and recipients at our annual holiday luncheon on Dec. 13.   Again, please provide your nominations to me by noon on Friday, Nov. 3.
