Brain Bowl Team Back from Ocala Competition

The SFSC Brain Bowl team traveled to Ocala last weekend to compete in the 4th Annual Erik Korray Open. They faced 13 teams, including teams from a local high school.

The team maintained a 5-5 record, and placed 8th overall. They won the first round and last round of the round-robin play and went on to win all three playoff rounds.

The team was comprised of players from the DeSoto and Hardee Campuses. George Perez was our top individual scorer, ranking 16th with a points-per-game average of 31 in 10 rounds. Matt Daniel ranked 25th, followed by Melissa Garcia (28th), and Rubi Barajas (39th). Newcomer Saul Medina played in 1 ½ rounds but did not earn any points.

On Nov. 11, two teams will head to Valencia College’s West Campus for the 20th Delta Burke Invitational.
