Over the next several Fridays, the Human Resources Department will post information pertinent to SFSC employees on Daily Connection. It will cover enrollment in courses at SFSC, procedures prior to leaving employment from the College, procedures for leaves of absence, the sick leave pool, terminal pay (through accumulated sick leave) upon retirement from the College, use of the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and an explanation of the College’s basic workweek requirement.

Under Procedure 5021 – Employee Enrollment in Courses at SFSC. Eligible employees may take coursework from SFSC while employed. However, please follow these guidelines.
1) Make every effort to enroll in and complete all coursework during non-working hours.
2) If the course is only available during work hours, it must be approved by immediate supervisor to change your work schedule or to use leave and to meet the operational needs of the College.
3) Receive approval from the appropriate vice president and/or president to enroll in more than 6 credits each fall, spring, and summer term or enroll in more than 10 contact hours per week.
4) Employees may not enroll in a program that leads to a certificate or license if the primary coursework is taught or supervised by a subordinate.
