Simmons Awarded Avon Park Business Woman of the Year

Congratulations to Elaine Simmons, who was named Avon Park Business Woman of the Year for 2025 during the ninth annual Women in Business event on Thursday, Sept.18! Simmons is front desk manager at the Hotel Jacaranda, which is owned by the SFSC Foundation. The event was organized by the Highlands News-Sun and sponsored by AdventHealth. According to the Highlands News-Sun, the purpose of the event is “to highlight female leadership in the Highlands County community.” David Bruns, Hotel Jacaranda general manager, said, “Elaine definitely deserves this recognition. She does a great job keeping things in line here at the Jacaranda. There’s no way I could ever replace her after working together for 20 years.”
