Black History Month Program at SFSC
Students from Avon Park, Lake Placid, and Sebring high schools were guests for a Black History Month program and lunch on the SFSC Highlands Campus on Thursday, Feb. 26. Award-winning broadcast journalist, communications strategist, and Sebring native, Kumasi Aaron, presented “Headlines and Horizons.” She relayed stories about her experience as a reporter and news anchor, while incorporating highlights from her interview with Oprah Winfrey. She engaged the students in activities that reinforced the concepts of her “Four Pillars” of personal development – presence, connection, story, and vision – that she gained through her professional career.
