Panel Will Discuss Must-Have Job Skills

Nail the Interview and Land the Job. A panel discussion with industry professionals. If you could pick the brain of leading local employers, what would you ask them to land the perfect job and keep it? Come to the SFSC University Center Auditorium at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, to hear four prominent business people discuss the skills they look for when hiring new employees. Among other things, they’ll explain the value they place on “soft skills” – such as the ability to get along with others, provide good customer service, and solve problems.

Participating in the panel discussion for “Nail the Interview and Land the Job” are Derren J. Bryan, the chief operations officer of Albritton Insurance Services L.L.C. and a member of the SFSC District Board of Trustees; Captain Lauro Diaz of the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office; Colleen Dukes, business manager of Career Source Heartland; and Don Ellwell, director of marketing and communications for the Alan Jay Automotive Network.

Admission is free. Students are especially encouraged to attend. For information, email Cindy Kinser or call 784-7325.
