Hardee Fifth Grade Experience

On May 14, 2018, the fifth grade students of Wauchula Elementary attended the Hardee Campus of South Florida State College following their orientation as new sixth graders for the 18-19 year at Hardee Junior High.

This is the second year the students have participated in this event at the Hardee Campus. The 115 students participated in five experiences designed to give them an idea what South Florida State College may have to offer for their future. Karla Repress from the college’s Art Department worked with students, as did Stacy Sharp of the Humanities’ Department. Also present and conducting groups were Garrett Lee for mechatronics, Rich Shepard for fire science and EMT, and Mike Huften from the Criminal Justice Academy.

Students from the Hardee Student Government Association, Michael Major, Timothy Major, Rosa Ontiveros, and Daisha Blandin, also volunteered. SFSC’s mascot, Pete the Panther, made a special appearance.
