Concealed Weapons Permit Class

South Florida State College’s Criminal Justice Academy will hold a Concealed Weapons Permit class on Saturday, June 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Highlands Campus in Avon Park.

If you are applying for a license to carry a concealed weapon in Florida, you must demonstrate that you understand state law regarding concealed carry and that you can handle a weapon competently. By successfully completing SFSC’s Concealed Weapons Permit class, you will fulfill that requirement and receive a certificate that you may submit along with your application to the Florida  Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

Instruction covers the use of deadly force and restrictions on concealed carry and includes a live-fire exercise at the college’s shooting range. Tuition is $55 per person and includes all materials.
