Athletic Update: Softball and Baseball Play in FCSAA State/Region 8 Tournaments

Following softball and baseball action last weekend, both teams have qualified for the FCSAA State/Region 8 Tournaments.

Softball will travel to Clermont, where they open play on Thursday, May 4 at noon and will play their second game that day at either 3 or 6 p.m. The National Training Center is the host site and Legends Way Ballfields are the location of game play. They are at 2350 Legends Way in Clermont, Fla. The phone number is 352-988-8179. Parking at the ballfields is free. Admission is $10 per adult and $20 for a tournament pass. They can be purchased at the front gate. The games will be webcast on the FCSAA site FCSAA team1sports.com. Any additional information needed can be seen on the FCSAA Athletics website.

Baseball will open play in their tournament on Thursday, May 4 at either 2 or 7 pm. The four teams have been decided upon but the seeds remain up in the air until after play this weekend. The site is yet to be determined as well, since the baseball conference winner hosts the state tournament. The two locations will either be Pasco-Hernando State College or St. Johns River State College. The tournament will be webcast from either site.
