SFSC alum, Max Gooding, was honored with a luncheon through the SFSC Alumni Association on Tuesday, June 20 for giving back to the College’s Art Department, to our students, and to the College in general, such as designing Panther Cove Park on the Highlands Campus. Gooding graduated from SFSC in 2009 and earned his bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Florida in 2013. After graduating from UF, he went on to start a successful company.

In 2015, the Association of Florida Colleges (AFC) presented him with the Leroy Collins Distinguished Alumni Award – Rising Star. During the June 20 luncheon, Gooding presented Dr. Thomas C. Leitzel, SFSC president, with his Leroy Collins Award crystal statue. Gooding said that he wanted the College to have it because he was reminded every day in his work and life of the gifts SFSC gave to him as a student and alumnus. We thank Max Gooding for all he has done to make SFSC a better college.
