AFC Halloween Costume Contest

It’s the countdown to Halloween! Join the AFC Halloween Costume Contest for a spooktacular time!

Were you planning to transform into your wildest, spookiest, and most creative alter ego on Halloween? Well, then get your costumes ready, because the AFC Halloween Costume Contest is going to be a hauntingly good time.

Date: Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023

Time: 11 a.m.

Location: Highlands Campus, Building B, Rotunda Area

Prizes fit for ghouls and goblins:

• Single Entry Winner: $25 gift card to your choice of restaurant
• Group Entry Winner: Pizza Party

Whether you are going for a classic vampire or something entirely unique, this is your chance to shine. Don’t Miss the Frightful Fun!

Mark your calendars, summon your creativity, and let’s make this Halloween a time to remember while supporting a good cause. Proceeds support the AFC Scholarship.

How to Enter:

1. Request an entry form from AFC President Dr. Brent Ferns (brent.ferns@southflorida.edu) or AFC Ways and Means Chair Sari Crews (sari.crews@southflorida.edu)
2. Return the completed entry form and pay $5 to the Cashier’s Office. If you are submitting as a group, you can submit one entry form with the names of all of your group members, but $5 is required for every member to be considered for the contest. For example, if your group was planning to dress up as the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus, then three group members would list their names and pay $15 for their group participation. If you plan to participate as a group, then please give yourselves a Group Name on the entry form.

Why is there an entry fee? The contest is meant to be a fun and engaging way to promote comradery while raising money for the AFC Scholarship Fund.

What to expect at the event:

• Come dressed in your best Halloween costume.
• Check-in with the AFC judges between 10:45 and 11 a.m. If you miss this window, you will be automatically disqualified.
• Strut your stuff on our sinisterly stylish catwalk area.
• Our panel of judges will decide the winners based on creativity and originality, story, and overall execution.
• Be sure to follow the AFC Chapter of South Florida State College on Facebook.
