Blood Mobile on Highlands Campus on Aug. 21

The OneBlood bloodmobile will be on the circle near the Tower of Enlightenment on Thursday, Aug. 21, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. All blood donors will receive a $20 e-gift card and a OneBlood top handle drink bottle. Also, donors receive a wellness checkup, including blood pressure, temperature, iron count, pulse, and cholesterol screening. ID is required for the blood donation and screening.

According to OneBlood, these are the only a few of the many reasons to donate blood:

• Approximately 62% of the population is eligible to donate blood.
• Only 3% of those who are eligible actually donate blood.
• Blood is needed every two seconds.

• Since blood cannot be synthetically made, there is no substitute.
