Artificial intelligence can now create videos and voices so realistic that it’s hard to tell what’s real and what’s fake. These digital forgeries called deepfakes are being used to spread misinformation, scam victims, and even impersonate trusted coworkers or leaders.
🔍 How to protect yourself:
-
Be skeptical of emotional or urgent video or voice messages.
-
Verify the source before sharing or reacting.
-
Watch for unnatural movements, lighting issues, or robotic voices.
-
Never share personal photos or videos publicly that could be misused.
-
Use Zero Trust, assume nothing is authentic until confirmed.
This month’s Security Tea: Deepfakes are getting better, but so can you. Stay alert, stay curious, and always confirm before you trust.
