The Security Tea – March 2026

Deepfakes - Always verify requests through a trusted source. They look real.
They sound real.
But they may not be.

Deepfakes are becoming more advanced, using AI to create highly convincing video and audio impersonations. From fake executive video calls to cloned voices requesting urgent payments, these attacks are designed to bypass your instincts and exploit trust.

Reality Check: Protect Yourself from Deepfake Fraud

  • Practice Zero Trust. Be skeptical of unfamiliar or emotionally charged requests.
  • Always verify. Confirm requests through a trusted phone number, email, or pre-established code word.
  • Watch for inconsistencies. Unnatural movements, lighting issues, mismatched audio, or robotic tone can signal manipulation.
  • Question the purpose. Urgency, secrecy, or pressure are red flags.
  • Fact-check online. Search suspicious content and confirm through reliable sources.
  • Limit personal exposure. Share minimal personal content online to reduce misuse risks.

Deepfakes are evolving — but so is awareness.

This month’s Security Tea: If it feels urgent, emotional, or unusual, pause and verify through a trusted source before taking action.
